About Weekly Mac

In summer of 2011, I posted on my Facebook that I was in the mood for homemade mac and cheese, but I wanted to try something new.  My request for suggestions, favorite methods, or family recipes was met wholeheartedly by my friends.  It got me to thinking that it might be fun to try a weekly mac and cheese challenge – after all, this simple request resulted in a wide variety of mac and cheese secrets – plus I had my own favorite recipes at home and the Internet at my fingertips to seek more.

Although the challenge didn’t start right away, the seed was planted.  Could I make a different mac and cheese recipe for each week of 2012?  Well, the only way to find out was to try!

I didn’t quite fulfill the challenge: I completed 39/52 recipes, or 75%.  I’m OK with that.  But just because 2012 is over doesn’t mean that this blog needs to be over!  Here’s to thinking outside the Blue Box!

I do also have another blog about non-mac and cheese affairs called Domestic Dalliances.  There I discuss my various attempts to channel a hip, green-friendly, self-sufficient version of Suzie Homemaker.  Despite being more open in topics, it updates even less frequently than this blog does.

  1. I think I ate macaroni and cheese once at a school music camp. I was nine. It was awful.

I’m hoping your crazy blog might turn that around for me. Who knows?

    Courage to us both 😉

I hope it changes your mind for the better! I recommend starting with ones labeled “Win!” for excellent recipes.

Courage is sometimes in order – I am surprised how sometimes my tastebuds have been challenged!

    This should be fun!
